Tasks Accomplished

This week was centered on identifying the gap that Project Suraksha can fill. To gather information, I conducted primary research by interviewing 22 household workers, including drivers, cooks, maids, cleaners, and gardeners. The purpose of the interviews was to gather insights into their knowledge of micro insurance and micro pension schemes. The results showed that the majority of the household workers had limited knowledge about these schemes, with only 4 of them having some knowledge but lacking information on how to enroll.

Challenges

Due to the lack of understanding among household workers about the micro insurance and micro pension schemes, the workload for Project Suraksha has increased. Previously, my focus was on linking these workers with banks, and government common service centers and getting them enrolled in the schemes. However, I now have to also prioritize creating awareness about these programs among the target audience.

Next Week To Do’s

In order to ensure that I am well equipped with the knowledge required to spread awareness about the schemes and get the household workers onboarded, I would need to gather knowledge about the schemes myself. Hence, I would be conducting in-depth secondary research from government journals and the internet, so as to understand the exact offerings of the schemes to educate the target audience.
